Review from Belle Malfoy: Twins of Aurora by Magen McMinimy

Twins of Aurora
Magen McMinimy

Life seems relatively normal for eighteen-year-old Avalina, who spends most of her time hanging out with her outspoken best friend, Jess, her twin brother, Aiden, and his best friend, Nick. Avalina fights against the overwhelming crush she has on Nick, harassment from her cruel ex-boyfriend, and an over protective brother while trying to make it through her senior year of high school.

Their lives are forever changed when the mysterious Araios, who looks remarkably like Nick, appears at a party in their sleepy little town in Northern Idaho. Araios holds secrets Avalina has long forgotten, secrets of a past based in a world of magic, mythical creatures and a royal lineage.

Follow the group of friends as they travel through this thrilling new world while Avalina learns to control the magic she needs to save everyone from the darkness that threatens to destroy Aurora and all who live within it.

Twins of Aurora is written by Magen McMimy in a first-person narrative set in the magical lands of Aurora. Aurora has all types of lands, from mountains to meadows to beaches. The inhabitants are extraordinary. Mermaids, dragons (my personal favorite) and even faeries!

Everything used to flow in peace and harmony, until the main characters’ uncle successfully took over Aurora and slowly began poisoning everything. So, Ava and Aiden, the main characters, set out on a journey with their BFFs and a royal warrior to save Aurora discovering magic powers and romance on the trip.

One of my favorite parts was the love triangle. I love the the love triangles. Once the main couple solves the love triangle, their relationship is so much stronger. And there are plenty of moments when I wanted to squeal with excitement because of a cute couple moment. And the adventure parts are pretty fun and exciting.

If romance, adventure, and fantasy call to you in a book, then this is a must read.

Magen started writing as a hobby. Having been one of those people obsessed with the world of the paranormal for as long as she can remember, she loves creating her own worlds for readers to get lost in. She see’s life as a constant balance of what we want and what we need. A balance that we all have to create in our own way.

“Life is a constant balance of what we want and what that balance in her love of writing and cherishes every minute she’s fortunate enough chase her dreams. We need. It's also a lot like a Battle. A battle that we all have to fight our own way. I chose to try and love and cherish every minute that I get to chase my crazy dreams and create a world and characters to get lost in.”

About Belle Malfoy: I've had my nose stuck in a book for as long as I can remember. I'm a self-proclaimed Geek, who loves Star Wars, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and movies like Pitch Perfect. Still in school, I've yet to decide on whether to follow my passion for science and create something, or my love of books, and someday become an editor. I currently beta read, and sometimes edit, for my best friend, who is an inspiring author, as well as beta read for author, Nick Mazmanian.
